What do I get out of the program?
A planned educational internship abroad
The potential for credit from your university at home
Housing and meals at no cost (a value of approximately $900 per month)
A cash stipend between $150-250 per month
Full immersion into American culture and the English language
The opportunity to travel and explore another country
What about the visa and how long can I stay?
Amity Institute sponsors the J-1 visa
Internships are offered for the academic year (9-10 months) or for one semester (5-6 months)
How much does it cost?
Amity application fee ($150)
Interns pay for their travel expenses, insurance and visa fees
What would I do at school?
Assist the supervising teacher in the classroom
Engage students in the target language
Work one-on-one with a student or with small groups of students
Plan supervised lessons and share your culture
